Dallas Museum of Art’s Online Collection Redesign

DESIGNER | UX/UI

The Dallas Museum of Art's collection contains 23,000 works of art from all cultures and time periods, spanning 5,000 years of human creativity. The collection's online presence needed to be completely redesigned in order to incorporate the new object photography and extensive object information, research and multimedia.

My goal was to make the website extremely visually engaging, allowing the artwork to speak for itself, while providing visitors with the opportunity to either dig right into a specific search or browse curated categories of objects. I decided to make the object pages centrally-divided to ensure visitors could easily navigate the large amounts of contextual information without getting lost. The left side remains static, featuring the object photography and related objects, while the right side offers all the information you could possibly want to know.

I took this project from concept to completion, working alongside our web developer and a team of content writers.
